Famous Animators throughout History!!

In this blog I will be reviewing some of the most famous animators in history, the people who brought animation to our screen.

• Georges Méliès
• Windsor McCay
• Lotte `Reiniger
• Walt Disney.

                                                     Georges Méliès

george Melies was a filmmaker and illusionist, he was born in paris, birth name was Maries-George Jean Melies, for an early age Melies he showed a particular interest in arts which led, as a boy, to a place at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris where Melies showed interest in stage design and puppetry. In 1884, Melies continued his studies abroad, in London at the request of his parents- they insisted he learn English after wich they intended him to work at his father's footwear business, while in London , Melies developed a keen interest in stage arts and conjury. after witnessing the work of Maskelyne and Cook.

When he returned to Paris from London Melies started work at his fathers factory and through time he took over when his father retired, In which his position meant he was able to raise enough money to buy the famous Theater Robert Houdin when it was put up for sale around 1888. After buying the theatre Melies started to work full time as a theatrical showman whose performances revolved around magic and illusionist techniques which he studies while in London as well as a working on his own tricks and illusions.

When the Lumiere Brothers unveiled their Cinematography to the public in December 1895 Melies was one of the member of the audience, what he saw had a massive effect upon him, after the show Melies wen't to the Lumiere Brothers with a view to buy their machine, but they him down.

Melies became determined to invesigate moving pictures, Melies wen't to Robert Paul in London and viewed his camera, projector buliding his own, soon after that. Melies was able to present his first film on April 1896,

Winsor McCay

Winsor McCay was born in Canada on 1867, McCay has an interst in drawing from a very young age, he was born to a real estate agent father who encouraged him to become a businessman, Unkonwn to his parents, he worked as an portrait artist in a museum located in Detroit while attending business colletge. The meusum was popular form of entertainment in the 1800's where people could view carnival type acts and freak shows and other types of entertainment.

Lotte Reiniger's

Lotte Reiniger was bron on 2 June 1899 in Berlin-Charlottenburg as a child she was fasinated by Chanies art , and as she grow she fell in love with cinema and animation. Lotte Reingier begun her career in Germanyy around the yeat of 1926, she made the Adventures of Prince Achemed, to this day amonge people Walt desniny is Known for creating the first feature animated cartoon when in truth the cridet should goto lotte for creating the first animated piece ( The adventures of Prince Achmed), 

 

Walt Disney

Walt Disney,  he is undoubtedly  known to be the most influential cartoon producer/animators who had great vision and the ability to push the quality of drawn animation to almost impossible heights, bringing to life cartoon characters that have iconic status in modern culture.

Max Fleischer – 

the head of Fleischer Studios, is known for the creating of other legendary characters, such as Betty Boop (1932) and Popeye the Sailor (1933). He also developed and patented the method of capturing realistic motion in animation, using live-action footage, which was re-drawn on paper frame-by-frame – Rotoscope (1915).
